How does Norvasc work?
Amlodipine is used for the treatment of high blood pressure and angina (chest pain). It works to control blood pressure and reduces the number of angina attacks by relaxing blood vessels. The recommended adult dose of amlodipine ranges from 2.5 mg to 10 mg once daily, taken with or without meals. Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones above, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
